Ok, so I'm kicking the week off with my very own WTF and it's a good one in my opinion. Well it must be because I actually agree with Jeremy Mansfield for a change.
On Friday I watched the news feeds like many of you probably did waiting to see who the Noble Peace Prize committee would honour with this years accolade and the spotlight it shines on the winners particular cause, hoping that it would be someone truly worthy of a peace prize.
Imagine my surprise and disappointment when the winner was announced and it turned out to be none other than Barack Obama. No disrespect meant to the man but he hasn't even had a chance to prove his peace keeping skills yet. It just strikes me as a little "funny" that he as the commander in chief of the biggest contingent of armed forces engaged in war in the world at the moment is handed a "PEACE" prize.
What for?????
Yes he is talking peace and yes he is making all the right noises and moves but we have yet to see anything concrete or any results.
What happened to people like MorganTsvangira who continues at great risk to himself despite the loss of his wife in what was undoubtedly a "plot" of some sort to battle the forces of tyranny and robert mugabe (and no thats not a typo, I wont give the man the respect of capital letters).
Is our world so corrupt both morally and socially that it now honours the leaders of countries who are "officially" at war on at least 2 fronts that we know of, one of which is being likened to Vietnam and that is not including it's self proclaimed "war on terror" with the highest possible honour for "PEACE".
If so I doubt there is any hope left for either peace or humanity.
